We source full-grain nappa leather from the outskirts of La Sabana de Bogotá, Colombia and craft each piece by hand, in small batches, with the same care you’d expect from a favorite accessory—because it is one.
The story behind your new favorite piece
Leo Méndez works in full-grain nappa from Villa del Río, Bogotá. We choose hides for a buttery hand, natural grain, and dye-through color so the tone stays rich and the leather softens into a subtle sheen with wear. Edges are hand-smoothed, painted, and sealed for comfort. Where strength matters, we braid or reinforce; where touch matters, we keep profiles seamless.
Our hardware is solid brass. It won’t rust, it carries weight with confidence, and it develops a warm glow you can polish bright or leave with character. Clasps are spring-loaded and swivel smoothly to prevent twisting. Rings are shaped for clean lines and easy clip-ins.
Making is hands-on. We cut for clean silhouettes, check thickness and consistency, and set every rivet one by one. Stitching is tight and even where used; load paths are tested so the pull lands on the strongest points. Before a piece leaves the bench, we review finish, action, and fit.
Result: leather that feels good from day one, hardware that feels like jewelry, and construction that holds up to real walks—beautiful, functional, and made by hand
